Directions for Use | Indications For use as a teat dip and udder wash as an aid in the prevention of mastitis in dairy cattle. Teat dipping can reduce new mastitis infections by over 50% and is an essential part of any mastitis control programme. When used as an udder wash its cleansing action reduces the risk of dirt contaminating the milk, as it removes dung, soil etc from the surface of the udder and teats and helps to eliminate infection on milker’s hands Pre & Post Teat Dipping Dilute 1 part Mastrite to 2 parts water to provide 5 000 parts per million available Iodine Apply to teats immediately after milking using a teat cup Teat dipping should be applied 14 days after drying off and for 10 days before calving It is recommended that teat cups are emptied, rinsed out and refilled with fresh teat dipping solution after every milking Udder Wash, Teat Cluster Wash & Milker’s Hands Dilute 1 part Mastrite to 150 parts water to provide 100 ppm available Iodine i.e. 10ml/15 litres or 100ml/150 litres It is recommended that fresh udder washing solution be prepared after 8-10 cows as a build up of dirt in the solution will decrease it’ potency |
